About

The Soroptimist Foundation of Canada, established in 1963, is a registered charity created by the Soroptimist clubs in Canada so that Canadian Soroptimists can receive a tax benefit for donations. Each club has a vote at our Annual General Meeting. The 2024 AGM will be held on October 26th, at 11:00am PDT / 2:00pm EST.

The Bylaws of the Foundation are available for download here.

We fund programs related to education for girls and women. Our Club Grants provide funding for club projects like Dream It, Be It: career support for girls, and other educational programs for teens. We now participate in Soroptimist International of the Americas’ Live Your Dream: education and training awards for women. Seven Canadian women in communities without a Soroptimist club benefited from our support in 2020-2021. Our main program is Grants for Women in Graduate Studies which awarded over $100,000 to women in graduate studies since 2020. Read about some of these extraordinary women by clicking on Grant Recipients.

The money to fund these programs comes from donations from Soroptimist clubs, individuals and corporate donors. Click on Donations to learn more.
